PIANO SECTION

Category ONE

Piano Solo Grades Sections
Performance:  Each competitor must perform one piece within the time limit indicated. These pieces MUST be from the current AMEB syllabus (including Piano for Leisure) except Novice section.

CLARIFICATION: Fremantle Eisteddfod defines 'current AMEB syllabus' as the most recent syllabus.

 

Novice: for anyone who had piano lessons for a year or less. 

ONLY for Novice section: pieces chosen do not have to be from AMEB syllabus. Only beginner pieces allowed.

Category TWO 

Junior piano solo sections, Bach section*, Classical Sonata (one movement) section**, Chopin Nocturne section.

*Bach section specifically refers to J.S.Bach.

**Sonatina’s do NOT apply for the Sonata sections.

Category THREE

Piano Solo Age Group Recital Sections
Performance:  Each competitor must perform at least two contrasting pieces (different periods) within the time limit indicated.  Pieces do NOT have to be in the AMEB syllabus.

Category FOUR

Collaborative Pianists Sections (Duets for one OR two pianos)-1 piece only

Pieces do NOT have to be in the AMEB syllabus.
